"Doing nothing [about AI] as an organisation is not an option. In the absence of guides and guardrails, people will do their own thing."
Farmlands recognised that while they had already established AI policies and provided paid tools to team members, only proactive early adopters were experiencing significant productivity improvements. Farmlands wanted to scale these benefits across the business and support people to get the best out of this new tech.
Farmlands already had AI Policies and Governance in place; the challenge was ensuring people had the right tools, proper training, and ongoing support to use AI effectively in their daily workflows - not something many enterprises have the bandwidth or depth of experience to provide.
Over three months, RUSH delivered comprehensive AI training focused on practical application, covering tools including Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot. The engagement included hands-on training sessions led by experienced practitioners, embedding support to create self-sustaining adoption.
This approach enabled Farmlands to set clear expectations about AI use in the flow of work and equipped teams with skills that delivered measurable productivity gains. AI assistance proved particularly valuable during migration of PowerBI reporting from legacy to a modern data platform, significantly reducing manual coding work.

RUSH developed a three-tier AI strategy with Farmlands: productivity tools (like Microsoft 365 Copilot), in-application AI (vendor-provided features), and custom agents. Rather than pursuing bespoke AI development with uncertain outcomes, the approach prioritised battle-tested tools with demonstrated enterprise success.
The engagement began with an AI readiness assessment, understanding Farmlands' existing informal AI usage and security concerns. RUSH's team delivered two specialised workshops. The Prompt Engineering workshop covered SPACE Framework, Chain-of-Thought techniques, and structured prompting methodologies to 25 participants. The Agentic Coding workshop focused on practical tool implementation for 14 development team members, covering Claude, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot.
A critical component was the embedding phase; ongoing support ensuring teams adopted tools effectively rather than abandoning them after initial training. This has included a hackathon to maintain momentum, and building out a Farmlands AI playbook which was adapted from RUSH’s own AI Playbook.

"The Hackathon went really well, we were blown away by what every team managed to deliver within a few hours. It wasn't just the outputs but how they got there, such as using tools to rapidly create a prototype then extract the code for their solutions. Also use of Voice Agent interaction, MCP services & AI to prepare pitch packs including AI generated video. The whole experience was outstanding."

100% of participants from Farmlands reported improved AI tool understanding with 79% rating confidence at 8/10 or above for agentic coding tools.
RUSH trained and equipped Farmlands technical teams with practical skills in AI-assisted development and testing, moving them from informal usage to enterprise-grade AI readiness. Participants projected 4.6 hours weekly time savings through AI tool adoption.
The embedding approach ensures that teams continue using AI tools beyond initial training. Technical staff are reporting significant productivity improvements, with AI assistance dramatically reducing manual work in database migration projects and enabling faster, more efficient development workflows.
