Pixel Fusion x RUSH

RUSH has acquired Pixel Fusion.

‍

We have built RUSH in parallel with Craig Boxall and the Pixel Fusion crew for nearly 20 years. The real ones might recall our two companies co-locating in IronBank for years.

‍

So this isn't just an opportunistic acquisition; it's the natural evolution of a relationship built on mutual respect, shared values, and complementary skillsets.

‍

Why This Matters

‍

Pixel Fusion brings deep expertise in sectors where RUSH hasn’t traditionally played as much, such as galleries, libraries, archives, museums (GLAM), energy and education. Their client list includes Intellihub, MOTAT, The Energy Collective, Edelman Fossil Park and William Pike Challenge – organisations that demand technical excellence, long-term partnership and strongly aligned values.

‍

For RUSH, taking on Pixel Fusion achieves a couple of strategic objectives:

  • Sector expansion... We enter a new market with established credibility and proven delivery capability.
  • Capability enhancement... We deepen our expertise in education and energy markets where we already operate.

What Changes (and What Doesn't)

‍

Pixel Fusion's clients now gain access to RUSH's broad infrastructure, talent pool, and capabilities. The expanded resources enable more comprehensive solutions – from strategy and design right through to build and implementation – whilst maintaining the personalised service and innovative approach they've come to expect.

‍

For Craig, it’s a chance to refocus. He founded Pixel Fusion seventeen years ago, building it into a trusted partner for digital transformation. Now he's dedicated full-time to his new venture, Nexties, continuing his contribution to New Zealand's EdTech and start-up ecosystem.

‍

His confidence in RUSH to steward his clients and team speaks volumes. These transitions only work when there's genuine alignment; not just on capability, but on culture and commitment to excellence.

‍

Sometimes growth comes from building. Sometimes it comes from recognising when you can help your clients go further, faster by combining forces.

‍

This is one of those times.
