Something Good Is Growing

RUSH has added a new crop of talent… enter Cucumber, a Tauranga-based digital services firm specialising in agriculture and utilities.
Cucumber has spent nearly two decades building genuine, long-term relationships with some of New Zealand's most important enterprises - Zespri, Comvita, NZ Avocado, Bayer, and the Ports of Tauranga among them. They do great work, in sectors that matter to the New Zealand economy, and they do it from the heart of the Bay of Plenty.
We're not here to change that. We're here to make better happen together.
Jodie Tipping founded Cucumber in 2007 and grew it into a business her clients genuinely rely on. That track record speaks for itself.
For RUSH, this isn’t a land-grab. We see unifying with Cucumber as the opportunity to amplify and scale the consistent, high-quality delivery that both of our companies have been executing for nearly 20 years.
Cucumber's clients will now have access to the broader RUSH capability set from strategy and engineering through to managed services, security, and AI-acceleration. More depth, more reach, no disruption to the relationships they've built.
For Jodie, her next move is stepping back to focus on HumBio, a biotech spin-out developing real-time chemical detection technology. Her confidence of leaving Cucumber's clients and team in our hands means a lot to us.
New Zealand needs a digital services partner that can show up nationally, across the sectors that underpin our economy. We're building that capability deliberately: finding teams with strong values, deep client relationships, and complementary expertise, and bringing them into something bigger.
Cucumber fits that picture perfectly.
Welcome to the whānau - let’s grow together.
